Horror is a Friend is my Master artistic research thesis publication. In this book I look closer at horror’s positive qualities to see what makes it so meaningful today. This thesis looks closer at popular and experimental horror films, novels and artworks to apply a broad understanding of horror that attempts to dissect the relation horror has to our social reality through the lens of artistic practice. It is a text on the structural necessity of horror and what it means to call horror a friend.
